(a) Service of process within the state,
except as otherwise provided by law,
shall be made by the sheriff or a person
over the age of 18 years who is not a party
to the action

PERSONAL SERVICE OUTSIDE THE STATE

(1) By a person authorized by law to serve
process in civil actions within the state or
territory where such service is made, or by
the deputy of a person so authorized;
(2) By a person appointed by the court in
which the action is pending
